Andy did great during his surgery! He came off the ventilator well and woke up without any problems. It was a long, hard day- Andy dealing with waking up from anesthesia, incisional pain, and his body getting used to being fed through a tube. He has not been himself. There have been a lot of tears shed. This breaks my heart for him. Lawrence and I are learning how to feed him through the tube. There is a lot of trial and error trying to figure out what volume of formula he can tolerate and how fast he can get it. This results in a lot of vomiting. Poor guy.
Please pray for quick healing and pain relief for little A. Pray that he is able to tolerate the ideal amount of formula so that he can start packing on some weight! And pray for Lawrence and me as we learn how to care for Andy in a new way.
We hope to go home today, but it depends on home health setting up our equipment at home and Andy tolerating his feedings. We will see. I hope to post pictures soon....

What a sweet, precious little boy. We are so thankful that the surgery went well - and will be praying fervently for you three in the coming days...especially that Andy will be able to tolerate the formula and put on weight...and for God's abundant peace over you all.
ReplyDeleteCaroline, I've been thinking about you and praying for ya. I had a friend who's child also went through this surgery and though the beginning was hard, the end result has been amazing to watch. Hang in there! Much love, jenn graham
